Our Story
Chris and Amy met in 1991 and have been inseparable ever since. They attended CSU Chico together and both earned their Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Marketing. They got married in 1998 and settled in to their new careers, Chris as a Data Administrative Analyst with Moody’s Financial Services and Amy as an Office and Project Manager for a Marketing Firm. They were fixing up their first home and working away together for a while when it occurred to them that maybe there was life beyond cubicles and home renovation. They decided to follow each of their passions - Chris’ to get in the boating industry and Amy’s to try teaching. They sold their house, moved to Stockton and Chris started working as a Salesman for a Yacht Broker on the Delta and Amy started substitute teaching for the local schools. Excited about the boating industry and getting the entrepreneurial bug, Chris left his position at that Brokerage and he and Amy created Simpson Yacht Sales in Stockton. After a few months into the new business and developing a desire to have a sales dock, they got a tip from a friend that Antioch Yacht Sales was for sale and they secured it. In 2003, Chris and Amy were the new owners of Antioch Yacht Sales and the future was bright. With the hope for either expansion or a transition to a new location, they renamed the business to Simpson Yacht Sales in 2009.
Chris and Amy had lived in the community of Discovery Bay and had always paid attention to opportunities to do business in this bustling boating community. In the Winter of 2010, they received the call they had been waiting for for years; The Harbor Master at Discovery Bay Yacht Harbor said there was a sales office available on its Boardwalk and it comes with four sales slips. They moved into their new location in March of 2011 and transitioned the business from Antioch, closing that location in July. Although currently Amy works on the business mostly from home, which compliments her other job as Mother to their two boys, she maintains an active role in the operation and direction of Simpson Yachts.

WHAT WE DO
Chris Simpson has been brokering boats and yachts of all types since 2000 and has been boating since the late 70’s. He has sold more than 600 boats with his secret to success – honesty, integrity, and energy. Simpson Yachts has coordinated sales of boats destined to places like Australia, France, Norway, Russia, China, and Croatia. Additionally, in the capacity of a buyer’s agent for people looking to purchase boats from out of the area, Simpson Yachts has represented some high profile transactions all over the continent.
WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
With industry and community involvement a priority for the Broker, Chris Simpson has served as President of the Northern California Marine Association, board member of the California Yacht Broker’s Association, and Vice President of the Discovery Bay Community Foundation. Giving back to the community that has helped with the Brokerage’s success, Simpson Yachts looks forward to increasing its involvement in Discovery Bay and beyond.

Chris Simpson has been flown around the country to represent buyers on such yachts as a Sea Ray 630 Sundancer, 61 Sunseeker Predator, Sea Ray 450 Express Bridge, Trojan 440 Express, and many more. He has helped get yachts from Ft. Lauderdale, Seattle, Houston, Lake Powell, Vancouver, LaConner, Buffalo, and more.
WHERE WE'RE GOING
The future for Simpson Yachts looks bright. A decisive move to representing modern in-board boats and to encourage more buyer’s agent relationships has allowed the Broker to focus his knowledge and expertise on the higher end segment of the local market.
